Revocation of appointments of ministers of state: 1 July 2025

Copy of instrument revoking the appointments of 3 ministers to administer specific departments of state.

I, Sam Mostyn, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, revoke, under section 64 of the Constitution, the appointments of the following persons:

  1. Katherine Ruth Gallagher to administer the Department of Social Services;
  2. Mark Christopher Butler to administer the Department of Social Services; and
  3. Jennifer Ryll McAllister to administer the Department of Social Services.

The revocation of these appointments is to take effect on 1 July 2025.

The revocation of these appointments does not affect the appointments under section 64 of the Constitution or directions under section 65 of the Constitution of the following persons:

  1. Katherine Ruth Gallagher:
    1. to administer the Department of Finance or the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet; or
    2. to hold the offices of Minister for Finance, Minister for the Public Service, Minister for Women, and Minister for Government Services;
  2. Mark Christopher Butler:
    1. to administer the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing; or
    2. to hold the offices of Minister for Health and Ageing and Minister for Disability and the National Disability Insurance Scheme;
  3. Jennifer Ryll McAllister:
    1. to administer the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing; or
    2. to hold the office of Minister for the National Disability Insurance Scheme.
